Free Fun Fridays, Summer 2013, Greater Boston area

The Highland Street Foundation hosts a wonderful program each summer called Free Fun Fridays.  Each Friday beginning on June 28th through August 30th, there will be 6 different cultural venues that offer free admission!  You don’t have to pre-register, you don’t have to call ahead, you don’t need a ticket.  All you do is just show up and they will be ready for you.  In fact, they are usually very well-organized because it’s often their busiest day of the season.

The last few summers my 2 children and I have enjoyed a number of great places and look forward to returning for some more fun this year!  I recommend getting to the venue early to beat the crowds!  Some of the more popular venues can get quite busy!  But hey, it’s worth it for the price: FREE!  It’s such a perfect way to enjoy New England and check out some new places that you haven’t been.  The venues are family friendly and the weekly choices offer variety so you can choose a location that meets your interests.

This week is the first week and there are 6 great venues offering free admission, June 28th:

  1. Freedom Trail Foundation
  2. Mass Moca
  3. Stone Zoo
  4. Worcester Art Museum
  5. Heritage Museums & Gardens
  6. Tanglewood

For more details about each venue and answers to frequently asked questions go to the Highland Street Foundation site.

Enjoy beautiful New England this summer!
